Wanted! Cafe Manager superstar!

Cafe Outside the Square is looking for a front of house superstar to come and share our dream. Operating from our lovely Whitmore Square (CBD) site as a social enterprise charity cafe and functions space, we have a pay it forward philosophy - with all proceeds generated by our operations directed towards the benefit of Adelaide's homeless and other disadvantaged groups.

Our vision is to create opportunities for disadvantaged groups to re-engage, build some skills and ultimately find employment. We also want to be a place that helps to inspire those in our community and provide some compassion, hope and joy into people’s lives.

If you are an energetic and passionate person who resonates with our philosophy, loves being front of house and delivering excellent customer service (in a cafe and functions environment), and are keen to help us in our mission to deliver high quality training and education programs for disadvantaged groups, then this is an opportunity too good to be missed!

Responsibilities and Duties of successful candidate:

Deliver amazing customer service, food and coffee

Manage café inventory, including stock ordering

Help to train disadvantaged groups in Café skills

Develop and implement policies and procedures

Assist with creating brand recognition

You will be expected to often work alone, with a "hands on" approach to ensure the café operates efficiently, maximising productivity and profitability.

Requirements:

Minimum 3 years hospitality and food prep/handling experience, with cooking skills a bonus!

Formal barista training or proven long term experience

A passion for the hospitality industry and for the goals and values of the organisation

Exceptional communication and customer service skills

To be successful in this position, you will:

Have an outgoing personality and an approachable demeanour

Be available 4-5 days per week and evenings as required for function bookings

What we offer:

4-5 days per week permanent hours.

The café is open Monday – Sunday 8am – 3pm and generally closed on public holidays, so as far as hospo goes this is a good egg!
